I was going off of this blueprint drawing:

If that has changed, and it very well may have, then I was wrong. The blueprints changed so often that it was hard to keep up with.

The last that I heard (mid December) the pressbox/suites would go from the 5 yard line to the 5 yard line. If there was a change in this, it would also result in lowering the number of available suites. I doubt that would have happened unless the engineers had a structural reasoning for altering it.

The original statement was that within 5 years all 3 will be done. I'm thinking they will not do anything next offseason, but the one after we will get phase 2 completed. That's the one with the mid deck on the student side which we already need.

As for phase 3, I would think that would be at least 2 more years after phase 2 is done.

Of course this is pure speculation on my part.

So with the blizzard that is going on here in Lynchburg, how much will that delay the construction process?

Obviously, they won't be doing much in the next couple of days!

With all this snow pushing them back AT LEAST 1 week, is it still realistic for this to be done on time?

I definitley think that this timetable is doable. I know that it seems that this is a rather aggressive deadline but it's doable. If this was pushed back maybe a month that's a different story.

The problem this go-round is it's icy crusty nasty stuff, not nice fluffy powder like last time. It'll take a while to clean up, and there is supposed to be more coming tomorrow. (Not a whole lot if that's any consolation.)

And, we're going to get 2 - 4 more inches tomorrow night. I have lost more games due to weather this year, than any other season I've reffed.

um... the only home game i can make this year would be the opener. due to conflicting football schedules here at GSU. so it needs to get done. or i won't see it till 2011 :( this will also be the 1st year i am eligible for the baptist side... will i sit there? not a chance. especially if some of you knuckle heads are still around in the student section.

Why not? We said when we started The LUnatics that one of the goals was for us to move over to the Baptist side after graduation to try and inject more life over there. If I'm able to sit in the stands next year, it'll be on the Baptist side.

Let em tell you to shutup. You paid for that seat. It takes time to change a culture of the way people are used to doing it. We had old people get mad at us on the Coastal trip in 08 but we were respectful and they ended up moving.

If you pay for the seat, you can do whatever you want within the rules in that space.

There are plenty of folks on the Baptist side who want to stand and yell at the top of their lungs. But they need more voices joining them. Of course at our age, it is tough to stand an entire game with all of our hips & knees going out.

I don't think anyone would expect the Baptist side to stand the entire game, or to even yell/cheer the entire game. As long as they get involved on third and fourth downs then I think everyone would be pretty happy with that. It's a start.

If I paid my money for a seat and it was 3rd or 4th down and we were on defense then believe me, I'd be standing up.

You pay for a seat. Not the view. And you can't dictate the way someone else in front of you uses their seat. Have a problem? Buy a closer seat.

This is going to get fun.

I remember those fans at coastal. haha. I think I remember telling the dude he should move if he didn't like the fact that we were standing. I think people are so ridiculous about this stuff. The day we sell out is the day people can complain. There are usually other open seats around, even if we have 15,000 people there!
